These times press us from all sides:

These times press us from all sides: wars, fear, diseases, price increases, division, lies, people catching colds... and we run after news until we lose our peace. But let us be careful: the turmoil of the world must not enter our soul. Now is when our faith is shown, not when everything is going well. Let us put in more prayer and less panic, more fasting and less judgment, more charity and less stinginess. Fasting is not only changing food, but also stopping evil from our mouths, thoughts and actions. And when we no longer know where to turn, let us run to the Mother of God with a humble heart. She does not promise us life without a cross, but she helps us not to fall under it. Let us not lose hope... because the world may be shaken, but God does not change.

Today, my beloved, is a great feast day and celebration. Two saints are honored: Damian and Cosmas, wonderworking physicians. And just as they were saints, so all of us —men and women—must become saints.

“Following Our Holy Fathers, Eyewitnesses of the Word in Our Day”

FROM

Volume One

Preface to the English Edition

By Fr. Peter Heers

From the day of Pentecost the Gospel has spread not by “the sharing of the word” of Scripture but through “the eyewitnesses of the Word.” The Word has “become flesh,” and thus what is to be shared with the world is not a book but His Incarnation. The Incarnation continuing, Christ Himself is encountered in and through the Church, in those who declare with the Apostle, “it is not I, but Christ Who lives in me.” Through them the world sees Christ and becomes His disciples.

Why Catholics Are Becoming Orthodox: The Real Differences! - With Fr. Peter Heers

Holy Fathers - Where is the Truth?

From Fr. Seraphim Rose

Never has there been such an age of false teachers as this pitiful 20th century, so rich in material gadgets and so poor in mind and soul, Every conceivable opinion, even the most absurd, even those hitherto rejected by the universal consent of all civilized people–now has its platform and its own “teacher”…. As a result, philosophy has a thousand schools, and “Christianity” a thousand sects. Where is the truth to be found in all this, if indeed it is to be found at all in our most misguided times?

LIVE With Orthodox Ethos: Why Eastern Orthodoxy?

A storm is coming, more terrible than communism.

A storm is coming, more terrible than communism. Communism, for example, produced many saints; Russian communists killed their own people, like the Germans. This, for example, happened to Bishop Luka Voino-Yasinetsky. We read a book about his martyrdom, which the communists inflicted on him, and how they humiliated him. What is approaching now is worse. May the Lord protect us all!

"You will know them by their fruits." (Matt. 7:16)

"You will know them by their fruits." (Matt. 7:16)

One of the great tragedies of our time is that both Christians and non-Christians live practically the same type of lives. Christians no longer stand “separated” from the rest of society and it is often difficult to tell them apart from each other simply by their actions (fruits of the Spirit) because non-believers can be very moral and kind as well. The reason for this disparency is that most Christians fail to adhere to the true teachings, tenets, and Commandments set down by God. We would prefer to “pick and choose” what to believe and practice rather than what has been handed down through the centuries. We want the “prestige” of being a Christian, without the complications or efforts of adherence to the Truth.
